Las Vegas Freebies Today – 4/25/09
It’s a big day in Las Vegas – Britney’s back, bitch, and she’s looking for redemption in the city of sin. The last time she performed here she sleepwalked her way through a song for the VMA Awards show at the Palms. This time she’s the Ring Mistress for her very own Circus Tour stop at the MGM Grand. Over at the Hard Rock Kenny Chesney uses his Sun City Carnival (hmmm, a theme) Tour as an excuse to check out The Joint.
Now on to the free stuff…
There will be a poolside Kenny Chesney tailgate party at the Hard Rock’s Beach Club from 4 to 7 pm. Enjoy food and drink specials and a DJ. Admission is free and open to the public (no concert ticket needed). Must be 21 years or older to attend.
The Barnes & Noble in Henderson will host an appearance this afternoon by Dennis Griffin, author of “The Battle for Las Vegas”. Joining Griffin at 1 pm will be Henry Hill, former mobster turned FBI informant whose experiences were theatrically reproduced in the movie Goodfellas. Griffin’s other works include “Cullotta” and “Policing Las Vegas”.
The Springs Preserve is hosting What On Earth Day with the Earth Day Olympics in the gardens, special tours and more from 10 am to 4 pm. Admission to the gardens is free. Regular admission prices apply for access to museums and galleries.
The NASCAR Café at the Sahara is throwing a pro football draft party from 1 pm to 6 pm with live ESPN broadcasts and the chance to win a flat screen or big screen TV. Your first Sam Adams draft is free if you rock your favorite team’s colors.
Acoustic Soul returns to the District at Green Valley Ranch for a second consecutive night of all request pop and rock favorites. The band performs from 6 pm-9 pm. Admission is free.
True-2-Crue pays homage to Motley crew at the Chrome Showroom inside Santa Fe Station. The show starts at 10 pm and admission is free.
Whitfield Crane of Ugly Kid Joe hits the stage with the Sin City Sinners at Green Valley Ranch’s Ovation Lounge at 10 pm. Admission is free.
