Friday Pool Parties Mean Big Fun in Vegas

Pool parties are big business in Las Vegas and following the lead of the wildly popular Ditch Friday event at the Palms Pool & Bungalows, several other properties are offering ways for you to get an early start on the weekend party scene.

Celebrity hosts and musical guests draw around 3,000 people per week to Ditch where the brand new solar-powered DJ booth is manned by some of the best sound technicians in the business.

Ditch gets officially underway at high noon but those wanting to snag a free lounge chair will need to arrive early. Cabanas and daybed rentals typically sell out a week in advance, so again, you’ll need to plan ahead. Today’s festivities include The Ditch Dating Game hosted by 107.9 FM and special guest DJ Cubeechee.

Wet Republic at the MGM Grand declared itself the city’s first “ultra pool” when it debuted last year and now it’s the home of the weekly Hot 100 model search soiree presented by SpyOnVegas. Local lovelies are vying for $50,000 in cash and prizes and they’ll be more than happy to strut their stuff to get your vote.

wetgrooves

M Resort is the new kid on the pool party block this season and promoters Steve Saunders and Damon D’Amato have jumped into the deep end with Wet Grooves every Friday at Daydream Pool Club. The party starts at 11 am (a full hour early than granddaddy Ditch) and promises “groovy beats and sexy treats” as well as Happy Hour specials from 4-7 pm.

freejazzfridayrrr

To beat the heat and experience a bit more refined atmosphere, Red Rock Resort offers their weekly Free Jazz Fridays get together from 7-10 pm at The Sandbar. Tonight’s live entertainment will be provided by Robezz and the Jazz Train and different performers will be featured every week.
