If you’re not one of the 11,000 or so people who were lucky enough to get a ticket to Michael Jackson’s memorial this morning in Los Angeles, there are several venues in Las Vegas inviting the public to gather for the live broadcast. The service is scheduled to start at 10 am (PDT).
Rave Motion Pictures at Town Square will show the memorial in two theaters. Free tickets will be handed out on a first come, first served basis.
Galaxy Theatre at The Cannery
Harry O’s Restaurant at the corner of Spring Mountain Rd and Polaris Ave
Planet Hollywood will broadcast the service on the giant Strip-side video screen. Coverage begin at 9 am.
Bob Dancer will teach you what he knows about NSU Deuces Wild video poker in the South Point Showroom starting at 1 pm. The first hour-and-a-half will be devoted to teaching beginners the finer points of the game. An intermediate class will be held from 3-4 pm. Admission is free to all interested players 21 or older.

The Family Film Festival continues at Rave Motion Pictures Town Square with “Horton Hears A Who!” playing at 10 pm. Admission is free and seating is first come, first served.

For your adult viewing pleasure, Clark County Library will host a double feature today. “Houdini” starring Tony Curtis, Janet Leigh Thorin Thatcher will show at 1 pm and “Mon Oncle Antoine” with Jacques Gagnon, Lyne champagne and Jean Duceppe starts at 7 pm. Admission is free for both movies.
