Las Vegas in general and Mandalay Bay in particular are girding their loins in preparation for Saturday fight night at the MBay Events Center featuring UFC 100 and the rematch between Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir.

Good for UFC – anything that can last long enough to have “100” attached to it these days must be doing something right. UFC President Dana White has guided his enterprise to the top of the mixed martial arts heap with and is getting closer  to his goal of establishing UFC as a mainstream sport.

And definitely good for Las Vegas which benefits from a sold out show and a full slate of parties and events that encourage fans to get around town and party with the stars.

The first ever UFC Fan Expo is going on in the Exhibit Hall at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. Fans will have a chance to get up close and personal with dozens of MMA professionals through a series of grappling tournaments, autograph sessions, Maxim Octagon Girl Search, Hall of Fame induction ceremony and more. Special training and development sessions with the biggest names in the business are being offered for an additional price.

Pre Parties

Hawaiian Tropic Zone –  Former Playboy model DJ Roxanne Dawn spins at 11 pm and ladies drink for free from midnight until 2 am.

Tao Beach  gets the weekend going with a pre-fight kick off party hosted by Chuck Liddell, Ryan Bader and Jens Pulver.

Viewing Parties

No ticket to the show? No problem. There are plenty of places to catch the event

Chrome Showroom at Santa Fe Station throws open the doors at 7 pm. $10 cover includes 1 drink

Club Madrid  at Sunset Station gets the party started at 6 pm. $10 cover includes 1 drink

Golden Tavern Group is hosting viewing parties at four locations (PT’s at Spring Mountain & Arville, PT’s at Sunset & Pecos, PT’s at St. Rose & Eastern and Sierra Gold at 215 & South Jones).  $10 gets you a seat. Drink specials all night.

Hawaiian Tropic Zone – Fight! Magazine, Ring Girl Arianny and Sinister Brand clothing host the evening with surprise UFC and MMA guests. 7 pm

Mandalay Bay Beach – 7 pm – $50

You can also catch the fights at viewing parties at Caramel at Bellagio, and Diablo’s and Brand at Monte Carlo.

After Fight Parties

LAX Nightclub at the Luxor welcomes special guest host Wanderlei Silva. 11 pm

Planet Hollywood will host Chuck Liddell’s official after party in the Playing Field Lounge

Prive at Planet Hollywood is throwing a post fight party along with Rolling Stone Magazine, Cagefighter and 944 magazine with surprise A-list celebrity guests.

Rok Vegas at New York-New York is the place to be for Frank Mir’s official after fight party. Doors open at 10:30 pm.

Sapphire gentlemen’s club promises more than 400 entertainers at their sexy post-fight soiree.

Tapout takes their after fight party to Tao Nightclub at the Venetian. DJ Vice orchestrates the sounds.

Stay the Night

Boulder Station, Palace Station and Texas Station have room packages available that includes 1 night hotel stay, free admission for 2 to the viewing party, and a $25 food and beverage credit. Prices start at $109.

Free entertainment at The District at Green Valley Ranch this evening includes The Brad Cordle Blues Band playing in the Courtyard from 6 pm until 10 pm and the movie “Robots” showing on The Green at 8 pm.

Class of  ’69 performs at tonight’s Friday Night Lakeside Music Series at MonteLago Village. Mike O’Brian from KKLZ Morning Show will MC the event from 7-10 pm. Admission is free.

SpyOnVegas goes poolside at Hard Rock Beach Club for tonight’s Friday Night Live event with The Roots. Complimentary Cruzan Rum cocktails will be served in the special SOV VIP area.
