Sin City Revved Up For BikeFest 2009
It’s that time of year when the roar of motorcycles can be heard up and down The Las Vegas Strip and beyond. The four-day biker bacchanalia known as Las Vegas BikeFest is bigger than ever in 2009 from Vendor Village with more than 300 retailers of fine merchandise to poker runs to concerts to BBQs to parties – lots and lots of parties!
There are plenty of activities to attend even if you’re not a pre-registered participant and admission to Vendor Village is free for all on Sunday.
Vendor Village
Oct 1-4
Cashman Center – (850 Las Vegas Blvd N) – Thurs, 5 pm-10 pm. Fri & Sat, 10 am-8 pm. Sun, 10 am-2 pm. Admission is $15 for all four days. Admission is free for Las Vegas BikeFest Registrants. Admission is free on Sunday for everyone. Opening party on Thursday from 7-9 pm at the Village Oasis features free beer and snacks for BikeFest registrants.
2010 Harley-Davidson Rides
Oct 1-3
Las Vegas Harley-Davidson – (2605 S Eastern) – 9 am-4 pm – Rides are free but riders must present a valid motorcycle license, wear long pants and a D.O.T. approved helmet and sign a release form.
Competitions
Oct 2
Artistry in Iron, Master Builders’ Championship – Vendor Village – 10 am-8 pm. 20 bikes created by the most progressive builders in the world. Check out the bikes and chat with the builders. Attend the autograph sessions from noon until 2 pm and 3-5 pm.
Bikini Contest – Cashman Center Theater – 2 pm – First place wins $500, 2nd place wins $300 and 3rd place wins $200. Guest celebrity judges will determine the winner.
Las Vegas Harley-Davidson Wet T-Shirt Contest – 2605 S Eastern – 5 pm-6 pm. Prize packages: $1,000 for the winner, $500 for second, $250 for third.
World’s Strongest Biker – Vendor Village in front of the exhibit hall – 11 am-noon. Sign up between 10 am and 11 am for the chance to win $300 in cash. Runner-up wins $200. Competition categories: Trike Pull, Tire Carry and Keg Carry.

Miss Las Vegas BikeFest – Cashman Center Theater – 3 pm. Sign up for the competition from 1 pm-2 pm. Winner takes home $1,000. Runner up wins $500. Third place wins $250.
Sahara Hotel Grand Prize Giveaway – Entrance to NASCAR Café at the Sahara Hotel – A 2009 Harley-Davidson Crossbones will be given away at midnight. You must be present to win. All BikeFest registrants will receive an entry for the giveaway.

Special Event
Oct. 4
5th Annual Las Vegas Ride For Kids – All proceeds to support PBTF’s medical research and family support programs. Registration opens at 8 am and closes at 9:45 pm. The escorted ride starts at 10 am. The ride ends in Blue Diamond. After a light lunch, participants will see a Celebration of Life program. Award presentations and premium distribution begin after the presentation.
