Sand Dollar Blues To Close This Weekend

Last week we lost Mist Lounge, which, by the way will be gutted, expanded and transformed into Gilley’s Saloon & BBQ – no kidding.

This week we say “so long” to Sand Dollar Blues Nightclub & Lounge on Spring Mountain Road – another victim of the city’s struggling economy.

The live music venue has been in operation (on and off, briefly) since 1976 and has played host to celeb guests Ted Nugent, Taylor Dayne, BB King and George Thorogood.

According to the note on their website’s front page, the club will close on Nov. 8 and has plans to reopen across the street “soon”.

Stoney Curtis Band is slated to perform Saturday night (Nov. 7)
The club has been resurrected once before. Fans hope it will be again.
