Las Vegas is gearing up to say goodbye to 2009 and can we just be honest and say good riddance? The declining economy has hit Sin City hard and you’d be hard pressed to find many who aren’t ready to move on to 2010 and hope for the best.
Rockhouse Bar and Nightclub on The Strip is even telling it like it is with a F#@K 2009 New Year’s Eve Weekend with an open bar for ticket holders on New Year’s Eve.
Despite tough times, your party choices on Dec. 31st are numerous and because of them you’ll find more ways than usual to ring in the New Year on a shoestring.
Read on for details. We’ll start with “I can’t afford to pay attention” [free Block Party at Mandalay Bay] and end with “What recession? I’ve still got more money than sense,” [$350 to party at Haze with Tiesto]. So go ahead and scroll to the bottom of the list if you looking to share air with the likes Christian Aguilera, the Black Eyed Peas, Pete Wentz and their pals.
Something to note: Cover charges in Las Vegas are always subject to change and you can expect prices to increase if you want to pay at the door.
And by the way….after much angst last year, the fireworks have been moved back onto the rooftops so viewing will possible just about anywhere.

This is a fantastic venue with a (far away) view of The Strip but we hear that issues with fighting amongst the patrons has forced management to rethink the no cover nightclub with rock band concept. [Strange Brew moved their gig downstairs to Marilyn’s Lounge at the beginning of December and the space has been advertised as a place to rent for holiday parties] Anyway….back to NYE…There will be hors d’oeuvres and party favors along with a champagne toast at midnight.
