The NASCAR drivers return to Sin City to honor their own and Champion’s Week 2011 kicks off today on Fremont Street with the first of a several fan friendly events. The festivities all lead up to Friday’s awards ceremony at Wynn Las Vegas where Tony Stewart will be crowned this year’s champion driver and owner.,
Wednesday, Nov 30
Fremont Street Experience – NASCAR Fanfest – Bob Eubanks emcees the Newlywed Game NASCAR style. The top 12 drivers will compete for bragging rights. A dozen lucky fans will be teamed up with a couple for the chance to win suite passes for next year’s race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The show starts at 2:15 pm. Admission is free.
Thursday, Dec 1
Bellagio – Ballroom – NMPA Myers Brothers Awards Luncheon – Awards will be presented to this year’s champion crew chief Darien Grubb and the Most Popular Driver will be announced. 11 am.
Hard Rock Hotel – Coca-Cola Fan Zone – Interactive displays presented by Coca-Cola, Ford, Game Show Network and Sprint. This are will serve as the finish line for the NASCAR Victory Lap (see details below). The Zone opens at noon. Admission is free.
The Joint – Hard Rock Hotel – After the Lap – The top 12 drivers will participate in a question and answer session. Tickets start at $16.50.
The Strip – NASCAR Victory Lap – The top 12 drivers will line up in their cars at Wynn Las Vegas at 3 pm and travel south on the Strip to Harmon and proceed east to the Hard Rock Hotel on Paradise. The drivers will make a pit stop in front of the Bellagio fountains and put on a show for fans in two designated burnout sections.
Friday, Dec 2
Wynn Las Vegas – 2011 Sprint Cup Series Banquet – The ceremony will air live on Speed and features performances by Reba McEntire, Kid Rock, Bill Engvall and Carrot Top. Mayor Pro Tem Stavros Anthony will welcome the attendees.
