Las Vegas Motor Speedway needs someone to kick off the NASCAR Nationwide Series event on Feb. 27 with a rousing rendition of this nation’s national anthem…and it could be you.

Prepare your best a capella version (brave judges!) and get down to Sam’s Town on Boulder Hightway on Saturday, Jan. 30 for the Speedway Superstar auditions. Registration begins at 9 am and the singin’ starts at 10 am. (The first 150 people through the door are guaranteed an audition.)

If you’re at least 14 years old and have a photo ID, you’re in.

Twenty-five crooners will be invited back for a final round of competition on Feb. 13.

Vegas is Calling All Cougars (and the Cubs Who Love Them)

Boys beware.

The cougars are on the loose and they’re headed for the Tropicana Ballroom for Friday night’s inaugural Las Vegas Cougar Convention. [They even have their very own Cougar Convention Anthem performed by Unique Monique.]

Author Rich Gosse will deliver the keynote address, “Younger Men/Older Women: The Ideal Combination” at 7:30 pm.
DJ Jake will spin sounds for the Cougar Dance Party starting at 9 pm and at 11 pm attending Cubs will crown Miss Cougar Las Vegas. Eligibility requirements are few….single woman, 35 years or older, attracted to younger men.

Tickets are $20 at the door.

Cougars don’t do it for you? Just wait ‘til mid-March when Mandalay Bay hosts Cannapalooza – The International Marketplace for All Things Cannibis. Smokin’!
